Provence in south eastern France, between the Alps, the med and the Rhone River stretches from Orange to Nice. An excellent rail network makes travel between towns easy to discover. 

Avignon;Named city of the popes, bordered to the north and west by the river Rhone this medieval city is the chief city of the Vauclipse and the gateway to Provence, it plays host to many cafes, expensive shops, restaurants, art galleries and museums.

Nyons;renowned for its olives and olives oils and a charming town in north Provence, visit the vieux moulins, and old artisonal complex of the two 18th and 19th century oil presses, an 18th century soak works and a Provencal kitchen. Every year the town hosts its annual olivvade fair this is a fantastic chance to taste the many olives on offer.

Cassis;a small fishing town on the Med, Cassis is charming yet sophisticated, You can enjoy a delicious meal at several fine European restaurants, sit at an outside cafe and watch the world go by, or try your luck at the local casino. You may also take a boat trip to the Calanques. The Calenques are steep white cliffs jutting in to the Med.

<p>Aix En Provence: &nbsp;A lively city known for its thermal hot springs, art schools and universities. Wander round the old town and quarter Mazarin on foot stopping at cafes, bookstores and markets.</p>
<p>Nimes: An old Roman city which boasts a 1<sup>st</sup> Century amphitheatre in the centre of the town that hosts bull fighting festivals in September or discover wide boulevards and bustling squares with many interesting shops, cafes and restaurants, the local speciality being “branade” chopped cod, mixed with mashed potatoes, milk, garlic and olive oil, this can be tasted in many restaurants.</p>
<p>Marseilles: The largest city in France after Paris, is a busy but fascinating place to visit, surrounded by mountains but with the essence of a small fishing village, crammed with yachts, cafes, fish markets and offering plenty of boat trips. There is plenty to keep the children occupied including a zoo, the park of giant labyrinths, llama trekking and so much more.</p>
<p>St Remy de Provence: was the birth place of the astrologer Nostradamus, it lies south of Avignon and boasts 300 days of sun a year, a pretty market town with a lovely old centre, to discover the old town take any of the streets leading off the boulevard which encircles the old town centre and wander the alleyways and leafy squares, sit outside in one of the many cafes and squares or browse the local goods on market day.&nbsp;</p>
