Studland Bay, Dorset -Fine sandy beaches stretch continuously for 4 miles from South Haven Point to the chalk cliffs of Handfast Point and Old Harry Rocks, including Shell Bay. The heath land behind the beach is a National Nature Reserve with many rare birds.

Norfolk and Suffolk


Wells/Holkham, Norfolk- The beach at Wells is at least a mile from the town. You can walk there, drive, or during the summer, take the miniature railway. The sandy beach, backed by dunes and pine trees, stretches for miles to the west.

Walberswick, Suffolk- Over a thousand acres of heath and marshland around Walberswick are protected as an Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB). The seaside town of Southwold is within strolling distance along one of the many beautiful walks in and around Walberswick.

Lunan Bay- One of the most beautiful beaches in Scotland, Lunan Bay has attracted many visitors throughout the ages, from Viking armies in the 10th century to generations of holidaymakers. The beach is a popular destination for surfers and horse riders, and traditional fishing is still practiced here with nets strung on poles dug into the sand to trap fish in the receding tide. The beach is also a fantastic place to go bird watching with great grey shrikes, red-backed shrikes, scoters, rough-legged buzzards and hoopoes just some of the species you can catch a glimpse of.

Sandwood Bay, Cape Wrath, Sutherland- Perhaps the most beautiful beach in Britain, the wild and spectacular Sandwood Bay in Kinlochbervie is backed by huge sand dunes and a loch. Spend time exploring the mile of golden sand and dunes, with rocky cliffs and a giant sea stack to complete the scene. Despite its popularity, Sandwood Bay never seems busy as the beach is big enough to absorb the visitors.

Luskentyre, Outer Hebrides -The Luskentyre beach has been voted Britain's best beach and has been said to be in the top top ten beaches in the world. Luskentyre is famous for the beautiful white sandy beach which runs for miles and the gorgeous green-blue waters lapping up onto its shores.

Marloes Sands- Marloes beach is a large expanse of sandy shore within the National Park, notable for its cliffs with strange rock formations. The village of Marloes itself is very close to Martins Haven from where trips can be taken to the islands of Skomer and Skokholm.

Rhossili beach - Breathtaking Rhossili bay with its three mile long sandy beach. It is possible to walk across the bay to Llangennith or even cross onto the Worms Head.
